New Year and New version is coming...

Just be patient and you will be rewarded. SHPNP Beta 0.65 will add much more features and one that is more important above any , Sound! The first portable experience of Silent Hill Play Novel(GBA) in english and spanish.Soon!
Note : as you probably know my intention is not only to make a port but to include a remake of the game with revamped graphics in a higher definition than the GBA ones. This will requiere an extra hardwork but it is taking shape. Just a sample of what i mean:

Nota: como probablemente sepan mi intencion no es solamente hacer un port sino también incluir una remake del juego con graficos retocados en una definicion mas alta que la original en la GBA, Esto requerirá un extra arduo trabajo pero esta tomando forma , lo de arriba es solo un ejemplo de lo que me refiero.

[UPDATE] SHPNP Beta is back!

Well its been a while since i have released a new Beta for this port . The truth is:  my computer just broke and i wasnt able to code anything for a few months. Im really sorry for this. There has been some noise around Silent Hill Play Novel  meanwhile:


24th of January 2013:

Amy the creator of the original PC flash version of the game(2007/Alchemilla Hospital) has released the final version with the complete game. This version has been posted on the official Silent Hill Facebook page also:


4th of April 2013:

Fenixero from Taringa was able to pull an excelent port with sound and effects and is working on the spanish translation along with Luna from Survival Horror Downloads. This, althou is in WIP(3rd revision) will be the very best version for PC users becouse in general aspects is the real experience of the original GBA game on your PC. Check it out here:

Last but not least , the new version of the SHPNP(this one is the one im working on) will include the arrange mode (althou not yet completed) and will have both english and spanish languages selectables from the go. There will be some changes ,for example : sounds will be available , there will be no PC version mode, etc.

I have to congratulate both coders  Amy  and Fenixero for their work is a great one and will help bring back this game from the dead games wich we dont understand ´couse of the language .

Broken Laptop!

Hey guys! My laptop just broke last week. And i just received my new laptop two days ago . So thats the real reason why i couldnt release the 0.40 version. I will probably release it in january , and it will include many changes. Happy Holidays to everyone!

SHPNP Beta 0.40 sooner than later

Well ive been working hard to get better with this pseudo port im creating for you guys. The idea is to have the full silent hill play novel experience on the go in english and spanish(and a possible russian translation).
there is one of the modes that is a complete remake or an enhanced version of the play novel game and that will be the "arrange" mode.
So just to tease you i have the introduccion screen(designed by me) so you can see it will be a different point of view(my point of view) of Silent Hill Play Novel:

Next revision 0.40 it should contain the first part of the original mode and probably a teaser of the arrange mode. The important thing is that the PC version mode will be complete with mostly all the endings for harry(there will be 2 missing that i will add later) and for cybil. Andy is already done but it will be translated to spanish.
So what is Arrange mode? it is the same game with better graphics , music , sounds and probably more detail in the story part(based on "the novel" book). the minigames will be redone from scratch and it will include some hd  cg images from Silent Hill Play Novel that were used originally to create the gba game.

Objective: 

Create a port from the PC version and Original Version o Silent Hill Play Novel so we can play it on our PSPs and Vitas. Once completed there will be a third version wich will be the "arrange" version of the game wich will include some hd CGs and original music of the Silent Hill game mixed with a couple of twiches on the minigames and "gameplay" of the game.

Data: 

Original 2001 GBA game released as Silent Hill Play Novel. It was an adaptation of the first Silent Hill game in the form of an interactive graphic novel(choose your own adventure style.. It was never released outside japan territory.
It was translated completly by Toby Normoyle.
There was a Flash game released for PC owners using some of the Toby Normoyle translation but with a few changes in it.

Modes:

-Arrange(WIP):
A new version of Silent Hill Play Novel including , new graphics, new puzzles, more music , some new scripts(based on silent hill Novell Book). Will include as well full HD(downsized to the psp resolution) CG images and the extra options that will allow you to access specific Silent Hill material like artwork and miscellaneous.

-Original(WIP):
The Silent Team´s Game Boy Advance version of the game with original graphics , the ability of resize the image and , the complete music , sounds and puzzles found in the game translated in english , spanish and russian.

-SHDX:
The mobile version of the first Silent Hill, only released in japan , it included fighting secuences with different enemies and 4 chapters. This option is only available now as a DEMO of how the game looks but will be transformed in a playable game.

-PC Version
The whole PC port originaly made in flash (not made by me) wich included some differences on the translation aspect, some graphics where changed from the original GBA game , and it included the full spring scenario for Andy. So basicaly is a port of a port.

-Credits:
Basic credits option showing some love for the ones who helped in some way to create this game.

-About(WIP): 

About will include specific details of the original games , like dates, curiosities and etc , just for you to check some time.


Controls: 

Dpad--It could be up or down or it could be left or right. it is used on the menus like game selection and pause mode , and also when selecting the caracter.

Cross ---Select

Circle---Back(when its available for example the pause menu)

Square---Debug View: Allows to see the current option and the gamestate.

L shoulder button---Scale Image to 480x272(only works in game or in the character selector area as well as the digital trading cards)

R Shoulder button---Unscale or scale back Image from 480x272 to 317x272


Features(Beta Version 0.30):

added pages to harry´s scenario(now you can see the play novel till the coffe store part) 
added cybil´s scenario(only a few pages)
New graphics and selection screen(adding the "about" and "SHDX" options)
You are now able to see an example of what SHDX was( a java mobile game only released in japan)

Music test added(in process , only one song , the bad quality is due to the original gba quality)

Why I am doing this?
Silent Hill Play Novel is one of the most interesting materials and refferences to the first Silent Hill game also it was created by Team Silent!

How To Install:
This port was made with LuaDev so any custom firmware that is able to run LuaDev it should work.
Unzip the files and move the folder "SHPNP Beta ver0.20" in the path \PSP\GAME and enjoy the game!!

I am a Big Silent Hill Fan.
I feel more comfortable playing Silent Hill Play Novel on the go.

I am alive! indeed

Its been a long time since ive been here. today i will post some pics that for some reason i have never posted. So we can keep alive the hope.
News goes as follows:









The Scent:
Engine almost done. Preparing a tool so we can create animated scenes using the Lua scripting lenguage.
Graphics will be improved in no time.
There will be a gallery mode and an in game diary mode.
Traspassing code from LUA player to LUA dev so we can have a better performance and more compatibility regarding the psp models now it will be playable on the 4 psp models  psp 1000, 2000, 3000 and go but some of them will have to use the half byte luncher.
Preparing new trailer including gameplay scenes and not a blurry and shitty video like the last gameplay i show 1.5 years ago.
Working on nintendo ds and 3ds versions(i dont think it will use the console's 3d capabilities)
The idea is to make the IPs multiplatform.

Aspergia:
A totaly new and improved Aspergia will be born soon enough.
Engine its already finished , thanks to that  there will be more Aspergia titles in the future and we can improve the code faster.
Working on a new physics engine model so we can make a more  " realistic" gameplay
new artwork and OP scenes are already created.
The new Aspergia will be an excelent addition to your psp/nds/n3ds  and if i am lucky enough psp vita library.

News:
The Scent: Well as you can see i have made a little teaser that is intentionally short becouse im searching for a nice animation to put in the eboot icon.Music by me as allways (very amateur i know). Progress is around a 40% , im designing a new engine so we can reutilize some code in case i want to make a secuel of this game or create  a new IP within the same genre. Still ,im an amateur programmer so there is a lot to learn but also a lot to do with what i have learned already. Probably you have noticed that im far away from perfect in the english grammar so there will be some changes in the script.

Aspergia: Miscelaneous mode is almost done plus the addition of 10 levels in the single player. Some clean up of the code here and there also. Miscelaneous Mode will consist in different levels  with puzzles to resolve for example "put those blocks over there in certain order" or " get to the goal without touching the line.Im considering to enter a enemy boss every 5 levels. An the new addition will be the split of Single Player Mode into Story mode and Arcade Mode so there will be 5 modes plus a
Option mode that will give you the ability of changing the difficulty and some other shit like see a credits animation(that will include the license of the game).
So Aspergia will have the following modes at the end:

Story Mode
Arcade Mode
Vs Mode
Miscelaneus Mode
Options Mode

Time Attack
Survival


New Project: The new project will consist in a 2d platform game, probably similar to n+ so there is some sketch of this  and is in the game planning phase. Here some sketches that will be improved in a future not far  away: Well see ya in the next post.

Shitty Video Footage!

Ok i have no other way to show you guys that the game is in progress so here it is a video showing an early version (is a 1 year old video) of what you can expect of the game, As you can see on the vid there is already a dialog system , and a box system as well as a cursor that can recognize spots wich can hold info , items and etcs.
The game was in a 10% progress at that time , now is at 25% so you can expect lot of changes on the next vid.

Im Back!

At last ! The proyect of The Scent is not over yet, in fact due to the new LuaDev app i will be able to do something better that what i have planned to. I have been experiencing some difficulties due to "life facts". Im sorry about that. News are for The Scent. i will post a video soon so expect more from me in the next weeks.

This will be the official blog for the games made by the PPG group
  • The PPG group was founded by in_cpdo or C.Sebastian Pereira C.All games and source code belongs to the owner of this blog and shouldn`t be used for lucrative purposes.
  • The idea of the blog itself it is to keep you informed about the updates and progression regarding the games we are creating.
  • For now games will be published under free Creative Commons License and the code can be used for you in another proyect if you give credits to the owner of such work.
  • For now we have three different proyects regarding games:


  1. Aspergia: A pong styled game  that happens to be my first game ever , hoping to end it up well.Aspergia has already a vs mode(no need for a second psp) a single player mode and soon there will be a miscelaneous mode.Status.Beta
  2. The Scent: As a proyect for the PSPHACKS Horror Game Competition its an adventure-point and click like game that already has a background story ,  some scenarios, a point and click system. Althou still in an Alpha Status.
  3. The third proyect is under general ideas development yet, but probably its the most ambicious one of the three , hoping to have the Beta Version Released Before December.


Guys I just hope you like this free games , and also im more than welcome for hints or tips in order to improve the performance of such games.

Story

Scientists have learnt to liquify the "Abstract " world , toughts , feelings and different emotions are now in a little bottle in a liquid form, of course something goes wrong and everything explodes , becouse of that accident people have turned into little squares with faces and the world its a mess.
The world is now a big mass of thoughts and feelings all mixed out but the thing is that the feelings and thoughts are now in a solid shape transforming the world into "Aspergia".
Little square faced fellas live there known as the "Aspergos" some of them likes the world as it is
so they will try to defend this utopic dream.

 You are on the other side ,the only solution its to discover how to fix this mess and talk with your ex co worker to see if he knows how to reverse the Aspergia effect , some people is not agree with you and you start to fight with the Psychic Ball against others.
You play as one of the two scientists that couse this trouble. save your privacy regarding emotions , and the world!!
